The state of Yucatan has launched a campaign that promises to bring awareness to the state’s culinary offerings, rich cultural history and modern gastronomy.
The state’s Ministry of Tourism launched the Year of Yucatan Gastronomy campaign on June 18, Sustainable Gastronomy Day, promoting it under the hashtag #YucatanIsFlavor. As part of the campaign, the tourism board will make special alliances to work with many municipalities to promote their own culinary offerings, as well as statewide initiatives to fund and promote events. These include a new Restaurant Week and festivals that will promote the region’s tacos, honey and other regional specialties.
