Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has increased its flights to the islands of Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Madeira after popular Turkey was removed from the UK’s quarantine exemption list. Turkey along with Poland were removed from the travel corridor list along with the Caribbean islands of Bonaire, Saba and St Eustatius. The countries were removed from the safe list after their coronavirus infection rates increased.
Jet2 cancelled all package holidays to Turkey after it was axed from the travel corridor list this week.
A spokesperson for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays told Express.co.uk previously: “Due to the latest government travel advice, we have taken the decision to suspend package holidays to Turkey (Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir) up to and including October 17.
“We are obviously very disappointed to be making this announcement, as we know how much our customers look forward to their well-deserved holidays. We have been repeatedly recognised for how we have been looking after customers during the pandemic, and we are cancelling affected package holiday bookings with a full cash refund and are offering £100 off the next holiday booking for customers who wish to rebook.
“For flight-only customers, we are continuing to operate to Turkey. For customers due to travel up to and including October 17 and who no longer wish to do so, we are offering them the option to rebook with no admin fee.
“We know how much customers want to get away for their much-needed holidays. To give customers options when it comes to booking or rebooking their holidays, we have plenty of choice to destinations such as Corfu, Rhodes, Kos, Kefalonia, Cyprus and Madeira.
“For any customers due to travel to Turkey after October 17, we will provide an update ahead of their departure date.
“We would like to remind affected customers that they do not need to contact us, as we will be in touch. We would also like to thank our customers for their continued patience and understanding.”
To compensate for the removal of Turkey, Jet2 have added flights to the four destinations which have gained popularity in October.

The new flights represent 13,000 additional seats.
The increase in demand shows that Britons are still hoping to get away for a well-earned break, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Jet2 have said they are expecting the new flights to sell very quickly before the Winter season officially kicks in.
The majority of the new flights are weekend services.
The new flights include over 25 additional flights to Rhodes with extra flying from Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and London Stansted.
Twenty additional flights introduced to Kos flying from Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle.
More than fifteen flights have been added to Corfu with extra from East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle.
Madeira (Funchal) has nine additional flights introduced, with extra services added from Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.
The additions are on top of Jet2’s current programme of destinations with include Kefalonia, Italy, and Cyprus.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “There has been a significant spike in demand to Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Madeira and, as ever, we are the first to step in and meet that demand so that holidaymakers can travel to the places where they want to be.
“Customers are telling us loud and clear that they want to escape the gloom and enjoy a well-earned break, and we know these extra flights will book up very quickly.
“With great choice and value, not to mention our award-winning customer service and industry-leading response to recent events, customers know that they can trust us to look after them and deliver a fantastic experience so that they can enjoy a lovely holiday.”
