A new study has revealed the most peaceful towns in the UK for those who are looking for a quiet and tranquil life. North Berwick, Melrose or Lewes are among the most popular ones.

Britons are now leaving the big cities and moving to a new town, away from the hustle and bustle more than ever.

There has already been an exodus from London, with many people leaving the city because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A report by PwC said London’s population would fall by over 300,000 in 2021.

Moreover, after a year sitting at home, many Britons have realised they need more space to live comfortably – and what could be better than the great British outdoors?

Recent research by Delamere Health has revealed the top 10 more relaxing towns, both for a staycation and to relocate permanently.

They ranked them taking into consideration factors such as the number of cafes, spas, population, green space, beaches, walking trails, libraries, museums, crime and nightlife, as all of these contribute to the tranquillity of the town.

Therefore, towns ranked highly for the least number of nightlife and crime.

The study also considered 30 of the most popular staycation towns in the UK, taking into account the number of relaxing facilities available, for example.

The beautiful seaside town of North Berwick, in Scotland, topped the list as the most peaceful town in the UK.
