<\/p>\nPrincess Cruises will introduce eight new restaurant concepts on the Sun Princess when the line’s first Sphere-class ship debuts in February in the Mediterranean.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Sun Princess will have a total of 29 restaurants, bars and lounges, many of them the line has reimagined for its newest ship.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The lineup of new dining experiences includes Umai Teppanyaki, which Princess said would intertwine Japanese cuisine with a “captivating performance” by the chef at the grill.<\/p>\n
The Promenade will offer what the line called a “beachy California vibe,” with al fresco dining, an outdoor grill and bar that will serve quick favorites like sliced pizza, burgers, hot dogs, bagels and ice cream.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Sun Princess will introduce the three-level Horizons dining room, a first for the brand. The venue will offer three different dining experiences and levels of formality. All will serve a multicourse menu with breakfast options like a smoked salmon omelet and Swedish pancakes; corn chowder, burgers, Cobb salad or a quinoa salmon poke bowl for lunch; and lamb leg Proven\u00e7ale, saut\u00e9ed redfish caponata, or cauliflower steak with tahini, couscous and asparagus for dinner.\u00a0<\/p>\n
With the introduction of a new Signature Collection suite category, the line will also introduce the new Signature Restaurant and Signature Lounge, of which Signature guests will have exclusive access. <\/p>\n
Guests booking in the Reserve Collection of mini-suites and cabana cabins will have access to the Reserve Collection Restaurant. Both private dining venues will offer exclusive menu options, including access to a prime rib carving trolley.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The line will also introduce Coffee Currents, serving espressos and lattes exclusive to the Sun Princess. Coffee Currents’ food offerings will include croissants, danish, muffins, scones, sandwiches and other snacks. The new ship will also introduce the new Mix bar on the top deck.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Sun will include The Catch by Rudi, a pop-up dinner concept dedicated to seafood that debuted on the Enchanted Princess last spring. The concept from chef Rudi Sodamin will serve dishes like oysters on the half shell with red and pink peppercorn mignonette, calamari with a seasoned panko coating and lemon aioli, mussels Proven\u00e7ale with crusty dipping bread and a catch of the day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The ship will also offer the line’s classic venues, although many of them have been reimagined, such as O’Malley’s Irish Pub. Other venues on the ship include Crown Grill, Sabatini’s, Alfredo’s Pizzeria, Kai Sushi, Crooners, Wheelhouse Bar, Bellini’s Cocktail Bar and Good Spirits At Sea. Casual dining will include World Fresh Marketplace, International Caf\u00e9 and the Lido.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The ship is scheduled to sail an inaugural 10-day voyage on Feb. 8 from Barcelona to Rome (Civitavecchia). <\/p>\n
The ship is expected to have a larger activity zone in reaction to demand for more family-friendly activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
