A beautiful little seaside city is at the front of people’s minds because of its delightful November temperatures.

The Spanish city of Santa Cruz in Tenerife is one of the country’s southernmost, bringing with it warm weather of often close to 24C at the same time Brits are enduring under half that.

The Canary Island is famed as a popular place for Brits to seek solace and shelter from the great British winter weather of wind, rain and cold conditions.

But its near all-year heat isn’t the only highlight.

Among its other drawing points include the world-famous Playa de Las Teresitas – a vast, curving beach full of golden sand and warm, beautiful sea.

A key sunbathing spot for locals, Brits can nip up to the Mirador for stunning views of the beach and beyond, often the pictures seen on postcards.

Another great experience in Santa Cruz includes the Market of Our Lady of Africa where local fruits, vegetables and other foods can be picked up. It is situated inside a brilliant colonial-style building with an interior yard and is open every day apart from Mondays.

However, there is only one key attraction in Santa Cruz that everyone really must know about – and that’s the Tenerife Carnival – the world’s second largest after Rio de Janeiro.

While it may not be in November, next year’s one is in February – when the UK is really suffering from the weather.
