What can passengers expect from Icon of the Seas?
The world’s largest ever cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, is set to hit the water in 2024. The ship will be the latest addition to the Royal Caribbean fleet.
The cruise line already holds the record for the world’s largest ship with Wonder of the Seas launching last year.
What can passengers expect from Icon of the Seas?
With 20 decks, the ship is a whopping 1,198 feet long and will have 2,805 staterooms. It’s expected to have seven swimming pools and six water slides.
The ship had its first seas trials on June 19 and is being constructed in Finland.
The ship will have Royal Caribbean’s first ever food hall, the Aquadome.
It’s expected to have five different stalls with a range of cuisines from fresh pittas and bowls to macaroni and cheese.
The ship is also likely to have Royal Caribbean staple restaurants.
Brave cruisers will be able to tackle ‘Crown Edge’, a hair-raising obstacle course overlooking the sea.
Described as “part skywalk, part ropes course and part thrill ride”, holidaymakers will swing 154 feet above the ocean.
Icon of the Seas has a focus on families and the ship will be the first to debut Royal Caribbean’s ‘Ultimate Family Townhouse’.
The family room features an in-suite slide, a cinema space, karaoke, a balcony and private access to the ship’s family neighbourhood.

Icon of the Seas will be able to hold up to 7,600 passengers and is 10 feet longer than Wonder of the Seas, currently the world’s biggest ship.
There’s no plans for the ship to sail in Europe currently and its first voyages will be in the Caribbean.
